Hi friends!
So the much awaited and much hyped/overhyped gadget is arriving in India. Many among us have been waiting for the iPhone before it was launched in USA. Many folks got it imported and unlocked too, but the real thing hadn't launched here. Why? No idea... :D and they have launched the next version too.
But, the good news arrvied a few weeks back when Vodafone started advertising about it. I came to know only a few days back that even airtel would be providing it. So, thought of asking the guys at airtel Cust care. All the guy at the other end could tell me, was, that "You can register it through our web-site, but no information on the price or the date of availability."
Now, this is the real scene here. Two major players launching the iPhone but no one is disclosing the price or the date at which it will hit the market (and out pockets too ;-) ).
But, today i came to know from a close source at airtel that they are launching it at around 22nd August, and the price will be between Rs. 25000-27000 :-O
The question now is, will it be worth that big investment now, or shall we wait and watch first?

25 to 27 K is way too high. Also consider the fact that GPRS is not cheap either and will probably come activated with the phone.
The latest phones which connect to the internet in multiple ways usually connect to the first available network. So even if you have your WI-FI on, you might get connected via GPRS and waste airtime. Am not sure how it works with the iPhone.
You may still buy the phone for its WI-FI,GPS, iPod and of course the usability.
